Becoming involved as a volunteer will enrich your faith and help you to develop friendships that are close and lasting. Becoming part of the church family holds obligations to that family, the same as it does say at home. You encourage, support, and work to improve the church so that it is successful and strong. You may do so by volunteering for events such as:
* Fellowship hour
* Clean Up Days
* Community Service projects
* Crafts
* Helping set up for special events
* Altar Guild
* Ushering
Or, you may decide to delve deep into your church's activities by serving on a Board. We here at King of Glory have several Boards to choose from. Those opportunities are:
Board of Lay Ministry (Elders): The nature of the duties of this board requires that only men noted for their Christian knowledge, zeal, and experience in the spiritual work of the Kingdom of Christ shall be elected to membership. Their basic objectives are to take watch over the spiritual welfare of the Pastor and congregation members, individually and corporately.
Board of Church Properties (Trustees): The members of this board have the basic objectives of the proper maintenance of the church property, representation in legal matters, provision of general protection of the congregation against loss or damage, keep inventory of church property and maintain all contracts.
Board of Education: The members of this board plans and administers the total educational program of the congregation. They direct and supervise the entire spectrum of Christian education here at King of Glory Lutheran Church.
Board of Missions and Evangelism: The basic objective of this board is to bring the Gospel to the unchurched, enlist God's people in the work of spreading the Gospel, encourage prayer in home and church, foster a climate of envangelism that encourages members to share Christ with one another, and to promote and direct congregation-wide missions and evangelism undertakings, and to promote outreach in our own community of Cheyenne and anywhere else needed.
Board of Finance: This board's objectives are to labor for a good system in financial affairs and for the elimination of debts in the congregation; consolidate and review budgets in conjunction with all the other boards and prepare the annual budget. They also handle all money and banking transactions, handle special funding projects and all other financial matters.
Board of Parish Life: The basic objectives for this board are to strengthen the fellowship between congregation members spiritually and socially and the general cooperation, trust, and enjoyment among the members by means such as Fellowship time after services, dinners, rallies, and the like.
Church Council: The Council of King of Glory Lutheran Church consists of the Pastor, the President, Vice-President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Financial Secretary.
The Council supervises all boards and committees of the Church and discusses all matters pertaining to the general welfare of the congregation, to review all reports, and to present recommendations at Congregational Meetings.
