King Of Glory Lutheran Church

PHILOSOPHY OF MINISTRY

Adopted May 1989

What we do:

  • Our top priority shall be to give glory to God and express it in corporate worship.

The worship of God is not a means to an end (e.g. evangelism, stewardship), but is an end in itself and is the ultimate purpose of the church. It gives meaning, direction, and impetus to all particular functions and activities of the church, including:

Matthew 28: 19,20

Ephesians 1:12-14

Phillipians 1:1; 2:10, 11

1 Peter 2:15

  • We shall be a congregation who actively participates in Bible Study.
  • We shall love and serve the community into which God has placed us, and
  • We shall corporately LIVE the Great Commission, preparing and multiplying disciples of Jesus Christ.

FELLOWSHIP AT KING OF GLORY

All Fellowship at King of Glory flows from the fellowship we have before God in worship. That is the true and lasting fellowship which we hold. For there God serves us and unites us together into the body of His Son, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. (Ephesians 1:22-23)

From that time of being knit together by God, we express our fellowship in numerous ways and activities. We host family fun nights once a month. We have quarterly men’s nights. The ladies of the congregation meet in LWML and schedule outings. The youth gather for meetings and special events and trips and the list goes on. We are always open to new and fresh ideas for bringing the congregation and new folks together.

But again, our chief time together is where God serves to us His amazing gifts in the Divine Service. There we are given forgiveness, life and salvation. There in that fellowship with God we are saved. It is an exciting journey in God’s gracious care. Please join us in it!

MEMBERSHIP

King of Glory Lutheran Church is a community of believers in Christ. We are not an exclusive club! God draws this community together and serves us, forgiving our sins, and granting us eternal life and salvation. As His forgiven children, He draws us together to serve one another, our community, and our world.

Membership in this community is active. First, God is active. God the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit is the Name which we invoke, and the Name in which we baptize. This God draws us together and serves us with His gifts in Christ. He has promised to be present in this, His House, where He graciously comes to us, speaks with us, and lavishes His gifts upon us through His Word and the holy sacraments. Second, we are active. As God’s forgiven children, fed and nourished with His Word and sacraments, we serve the people around us. We serve our neighbor locally in the Cheyenne community, and abroad throughout our nation and the world.

Community in this place begins with God. He draws us here in His Holy Name and blesses us with His holy gifts. Without Him and His gifts, we are wandering sheep, lost without our Shepherd. His gifts of forgiveness of sins, eternal life, and everlasting salvation give purpose to our serving, and fill us all with hope. When members are absent, we all hurt and suffer. As a community in Christ, we are here for each other, encouraging one another in faith and life (Romans 12:5).

So what is membership at King of Glory Lutheran Church? Membership is being here in God’s House receiving His good and gracious gifts. He desires us to be here, for this is where He serves us unto our greater good. God is present here. He has promised to be here and this is where He and His gifts are found. This is where He blesses us. And we are truly blessed!

Please speak with Pastor about your membership today or call the church (307) 632-1247.

Prayer of the Day

Almighty God, thank you for the work my hand may find this day. May I find gladness in all its toil and difficulty, its pleasure and success, and even in its failure and sorrow. I would look always away from myself, and behold the glory and the need of the world, that I may have the will and the strength to bring the gift of gladness to others; that with them I stand to bear the burden and heat of the day and offer you my work, as well as I may accomplish it, as praise. Amen
